A fatal accident involving a truck transporting bottled water and none acoholic beverages has reportedly claimed two lives on the Mamfe to Adawso stretch of road in the Eastern Region.

The tragedy occurred when the vehicle’s brakes reportedly failed while descending a hill on the road, causing it to veer off the road and crash into the hillside.

The impact resulted in the immediate loss of two lives.

The accident caused significant traffic congestion on both sides of the road.

However, personnel from the Police and Fire Service swiftly arrived at the scene to manage the situation and work on clearing the wreckage to restore normal traffic flow.

Authorities are yet to disclose the identities of the victims and the circumstances leading to the brake failure.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
