Tema West NCCE holds Parliamentary Candidates Dialogue

Tema West NCCE holds Parliamentary Candidates Dialogue
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Tema West Inter-Party Dialogue Committee recently hosted a dialogue for the 2024 parliamentary candidates in the Tema Central Constituency. The event aimed to provide a platform for candidates to address electorate concerns and share their planned interventions to address pressing issues.

The forum, organized by the Tema West Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education, focused on six key areas: employment, health, roads and infrastructure, economy, and agriculture. These areas were identified as the key issues of concern to the electorate through an NCCE survey in the Tema West Constituency.

However, only the NPP Parliamentary Candidate, Dennis Amfo Sefah, attended the dialogue, while the NDC candidate was absent

.

IPDC Vice Chairperson, Rebecca Twumasi, emphasized the importance of being informed about the vision and plans of the parliamentary candidate, enabling voters to make informed choices.

NCCE Director, Fidel Nii Akuffo-Bortey, stressed the importance of peace and the need for electorates to take responsibility for promoting peace during elections.

During the dialogue, Dennis Amfo Sefah shared his vision and plans, attributing the NDC’s absence to their behaviour. He expressed his confidence in his ability to address the pressing issues in the constituency, including youth unemployment and the need for skill development. He also highlighted his plans to address the sewer line problems in Communities 2, 3, and 5, which have not seen any major refurbishment since Nkrumah’s era.

The dialogue provided a platform for the NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate to share his vision and plans and for the electorate to hold him accountable for his promises.

The event was part of the NCCE’s mandate to empower electorates to make informed decisions at the polls.
