Former First Lady Lordina Mahama has made a passionate appeal to Ghanaians to vote for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming elections. She warned that the nation’s sovereignty is under threat from the current administration.
Speaking at a fundraising event in Sakumono, Tema West Constituency, Mahama’s representative, Asiwome Jeffrey Amegbletor, emphasized the need for urgent action to rescue the country from hardship and restore positive change.
Amegbletor stressed that the current government has sold out the country, making living standards extremely difficult for citizens. He expressed confidence that the NDC will win the election, stating that the former first lady will support her husband, incoming president John Dramani Mahama, to reset the country and bring relief to Ghanaians.
Lawyer James Enu, the NDC’s parliamentary candidate for Tema West Constituency, also spoke at the event, expressing optimism about the party’s chances of winning.
He highlighted the need for training polling station agents and assured supporters that the NDC will protect the ballots and ensure a fair election.
Enu also pointed out that the ruling party’s threats to steal and rig the election are indicative of their desperation and looming defeat.
The Tema West Constituency Chairman, Mahommad Issah, said his focus was on getting an MP to rescue Tema West Constituency from the hardship the NPP has plunged the people into, and make John Dramani Mahama the winner of the Constituency, as all indicators favour them.
Lordina Mahama donated GH₵20,000 to support the event, demonstrating her commitment to the NDC’s cause. With the election just weeks away, the party is gearing up for a decisive victory, buoyed by their campaign momentum and the support of their loyal base.
