I am concerned about who will sit on the seat after me – Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo delivers SONA today

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has praised the abilities and qualities of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, asserting that he is the best candidate to be given the mandate as Ghana’s president.

Addressing a small crowd of leaders during his tour of the North East Region, Akufo-Addo stated that Dr. Bawumia’s achievements as vice president should merit a reward, rather than voters deciding based on his place of origin.

He emphasised that his concerns are primarily focused on who will succeed him as president in the December polls, rallying the crowd to support and give their mandate to Dr. Bawumia.

“I am very concerned about who is going to sit on this seat next year. I am urging your son on you, and I’m urging all of you here in the North East Region to come together as one and put your shoulder to the wheel to make your son Mahamudu Bawumia the next president of Ghana.

“And I’ve come here to ask you for support for him not because he’s a Mamprusi. It’s your quality that’s what matters and this man has the quality to be the next president of Ghana. If there’s anybody who can testify to Bawumia’s capacity, ability, sense of duty, and his sense of duty, it is me Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, I can make that,” he said amid loud applause from the crowd.
