Richard Anning, the NPP Tema Central Communications Officer, has questioned the decision to make sensitive information involving the government, ministries and security agencies public, arguing that such matters should be handled through the appropriate official channels.
Speaking on Plan B FM’s EBAANOSEN show, hosted by Ohene Kinnah, Richard Anning said issues involving intelligence and security operations should first be addressed internally rather than discussed publicly.
He questioned the rationale behind disclosing such information to the public, suggesting that the explanation given did not make sense unless there was additional information that had not been revealed.
Richard Anning also referred to developments from June and July, when intelligence information reportedly raised concerns about certain activities involving drugs. He suggested that intelligence gathered during that period had informed the actions taken by the relevant authorities.
He further appeared to raise concerns about people allegedly exploiting the system, mentioning ambulances and other related activities. However, the precise details of these allegations were unclear from the available transcript.
Richard Anning cautioned against making broad statements that could suggest everyone involved was guilty, stressing the importance of communicating the facts accurately to the public.
He maintained that sensitive security matters should be handled carefully and that the public should be given clear and accurate information rather than explanations that could create confusion.
