A Communication team member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), for Tema Central Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, Richard Anning has publicly declared that NPP won’t stop galamsey activities in the country.
Recently, the Member of Parliament for Effiduase/Asokore Constituency, Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie on the ticket of NPP reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting legal mining operations.
Addressing party supporters at a campaign event on Friday, September 27, Dr. Ayew Afriyie accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of deliberately spreading misinformation in Accra to undermine the government’s credibility.
He assured that the NPP would continue to support legal mining, even in forest areas, despite risks, particularly in mining communities.
“They want us to lose our seats in mining areas. But we will not stop galamsey today or tomorrow” he stated.
Reacting to this in a panel discussion on Plan B FM’s ‘Nkosuo Nsem’ show hosted by Obidehyie Kofi Sekyi on Tuesday, October 1, the NPP Communicator for Tema Central Constituency, Richard Anning stated clearly that he fully support Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie’s comments on galamsey.
“We won’t stop galamsey” he noted
