A communication member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Kpone-katamanso Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, Samuel Aborbi has made it clear that, next NDC and John Dramani Mahama’s administration will curb illegal mining (‘galamsey’) activities in the first hundred days.
Aborbi expressed disappointment in President Akufo-Addo’s failure to fight illegal mining in the country.
In a panel discussion on Plan B FM’s ‘Nkosuo Nsem’ show hosted by Obidehyie Kofi Sekyi on Thursday, 12 September 2024, Aborbi said that president Akufo-Addo has failed Ghanaians woefully in the fight against galamsey.
“Next John Mahama and NDC’s administration administration will curb illegal mining known as ‘galamsey’ in the first hundred days after swearing in as the president of Ghana on January 5” he stated.
Aborbi emphatically added that, Nana Akufo-Addo’s failure to fight galamsey has affected the the country a lot. Akufo-Addo’s tenure will soon end but Ghana remains Ghana.
“If Ghanaians are ready to fight illegal mining, then let us all go into the ballot box and vote massively for John Mahama and all the NDC parliamentary candidates in the upcoming general Elections” he noted.
