The Finance Minister, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam and the Minister for Food & Agriculture Hon. Bryn Acheampong (MP for Abetifi) have expressed fear over a possible higher food inflation in the coming days due to the decline in rainfall in some parts of the country.

The Finance Minister together with the Agric Minister visited some farms in the Bono East Region where over 45% of crops have been destroyed due to the delay in rainfall.

The visit by the two ministers is to ascertain the impact of the recent drought on garms.

Interacting with the Media after the tour, Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam explained how this development can affect the overall economy.

For his part, Hon. Bryan Acheampong the Minister for Agriculture also expressed deep concerns about the situation saying the Government will quickly have to intervene to mitigate the situation.
