Police debunk claims of militia training in Kwahu

The Ghana Police Service has refuted claims that some militiamen are being trained in Kwahu in the Eastern Region, for the 2024 general elections.

The police dismissed the claims as baseless following an internal investigation.

The Police Service further noted that it has launched an investigation to identify the individuals or groups responsible for spreading the false information

“We wish to state that our investigation has found no evidence of such training in the area.

“The Police have commenced an investigation to identify those behind the false publication to come and answer for their actions in line with the due process of the law. We wish to caution the public against the publication and dissemination of fake news.”
