Anti-LGBTQ advocates will protest against the chief Justice on August 21, 2024 over the delay in transmitting the bill to the President.
Sam Nartey George, Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram Constituency, who is also the lead advocate for the Anti-LGBTQ bill has sounded a word of caution to the protestors not to wear any party colour ahead of the demonstration.
According to him, the Police service will be given the power to discipline any protestor who will come to the demonstration in Political party colours.
“The demonstration is not about Party affiliation but the future of this country so any party colours will not be welcomed being it NPP, NDC, CPP and any other political parties”.
Speaking on an Accra based radio station, the lead advocate said anyone who wants to participate in the protest should come with National colours and on the day, Ghana Flags will be shared among the protestors to serve as a symbol of fighting for the sovereignty of the state to protect the innocent children of this country.
The injunction application filed by Dr. Amanda Odoi and broadcast Journalist Richard Sky, which seek to halt the bill’s progress has been postponed to the same date as the protest.
