Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Mr. Cudjoe Fianoo has expressed his deepest regret for the fallen standard of football in the Tema Metropolis.

He said the situation has become so dire that there’s not a single division one team in Tema, a city which has a rich history of producing football talents with the likes of Sebastian Barnes, Shamo Quaye, Ablade Kuma  Robert Mensah among others.

Speaking at the Official Launch of Plan B FM Inter-Community Soccer 2024 on Friday August 2, 2024, the former CEO of Obuasi Ashgold called for more support for football in Tema and its environs.

“When it comes to colts or youth football, Tema is classified as the eleventh  region because of the talents it has produced. But what it is painful  is that football is collapsing in Tema. Where is football now in Tema “ he quizzed

He advised the players getting ready to play in the competition to get serious and put up a good performance to attract high profile teams and scouts.

He praised the organizers for coming up with such a  good event to support football in the Tema communities.

The veteran football administrator donated footballs and also promised to give the overall best player of the 2024 Plan B FM Inter-Community Soccer Gala a special award.
