Ghana’s Rose Yeboah bowed out of her first-ever women’s high jump competition after failing in her third attempt to clear 1.92 meters, en route to advancing to the finals.
She managed to clear only 1.88 meters, falling short of the 1.92-meter standard required to move on to the next height of 1.95 meters, missing out on the final 12 athletes to progress to the finals.
Rose joins Poland’s Zodzik Maria and Greece’s Dosi Panagiota, who were also eliminated at this stage.
It marks the second Ghanaian athlete to be knocked out of their respective event, following Harry Stacey’s seventh-place finish in the men’s 100m freestyle event on Tuesday at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
