Five members out of 225 Menzgold customers who have died committed suicide – Aggrieved Customers

Five members out of 225 Menzgold customers who have died committed suicide – Aggrieved Customers

The Convener of the Aggrieved Menzgold Customers has revealed that the total number of their members who have died as a result of their locked-up funds is not an exaggeration.

Fred Forson indicated that over 200 members have died as a result of their inability to retrieve their locked-up funds.

He told the host, Kwabena Agyapong on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM that five of these people committed suicide.

One of them he claimed received Ghc1.5 million from abroad to construct a house for him in Kasoa but used for the Menzgold.

On the day of his suicide, the person reportedly told his wife to prepare him his favourite meal and later told her he was going to call his friend so they could eat together, but he did not return home and was later found dead on a farm two weeks later.

“The number of persons who have died due to this Menzgold saga is 225, out of which five committed suicide. So we are not exaggerating. These are real people who have died. One of the members died in my hands at the 37 Military Hospital. He was admitted to the hospital after experiencing a shock and wondering why he had not yet received his money.

He died in 2022, on July 11. So this is not an exaggeration. Some are going through pain and hardship. Several others are on crutches, suffering from diabetes and kidney problems, and unable to pay for their medications.”

He further claimed that some of their members are currently mentally unstable.

He said that due to their inability to retrieve their locked-up funds, these individuals are on the streets mad.
