Suspected robber beaten, ear cut after attempting to steal from police tent

A 17-year-old suspected robber, Joel Nyarko has been beaten to pulp for allegedly attempting a robbery operation at Domeabra-Police Tent Opposite the Sky Roofing System in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

The incident happened on Monday June 24, 2024 around 4:30 AM.

Information gathered by Kasapa News Yaw Boagyan indicates that the suspect is a “Gameboy” (Fraudster) who resides at Swedru Dwenwoho in the Agona West District of the Central Region but often visits his Uncle at Kasoa.

According to reports, the suspect came with a gang of armed robbers in a vehicle to rob in the community, but they were spotted and chased out. But as they sped off, luck eluded the suspect and he was left behind.

The Youth of the town seething with anger then pounced on the suspect and started beating him up, breaking his left foot in the process and leaving him with several injuries.

They then conveyed the suspect in a wheelbarrow from the Community to the road side naked.

An eyewitness named CD said after the suspect was dumped naked, one Okada rider who was passing by made a comment that “you people come to steal and we the Okada riders are being accused of it”.

The Okada rider after making that comment cut of the right ear of the suspect.

Meanwhile, Police interrogation of the suspect contradict claims made by resident.

The suspect in pain explained that he came around to do something this dawn but some group of guys from nowhere attacked him, robbing him off his belongings including an IPhone, Cedis, Dollars and other accessories which he was carrying.

He was later conveyed to the Amanfrom hospital for treatment, while his father has been contacted to help further investigation.
