2026 WCQ: We will not be complacent against Central African Republic – Otto Addo assures

2026 FIFA WC: We need to beat Mali to stand a chance of qualifying- Otto Addo

Ghana coach, Otto Addo, has issued a stern warning to his players ahead of their upcoming match against the Central African Republic (CAR) in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Set to take place on Monday, June 10th, at the Baba Yara Stadium, Ghana will face CAR on the fourth matchday of the qualifying series.

Despite their recent victory over Mali with a scoreline of 2-1, which earned them six points from three games and placed them third in Group I behind Madagascar and Comoros, Addo emphasizes the importance of maintaining focus and intensity.

Addo’s cautionary message aligns with the sentiments expressed by Mohammed Kudus, stressing the formidable challenge that lies ahead against CAR.

“One thing is for sure, it’s going to be a very difficult game. For everyone who thinks it’s going to be easy, we hope it goes like that, but it’s really a difficult game,” he told the press on Sunday.

“We can’t relax now,” the former Borussia Dortmund head coach added.

With kickoff scheduled for 19:00 GMT, Ghana aims to secure their spot in the FIFA World Cup for the fifth time, under Addo’s leadership, who previously guided the Black Stars to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar
