A member of the Movement for Change Kofi Adusei Poku has described as mere political talk, promises by New Patriotic Party flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, that he would appoint only 50 ministers and deputy ministers if he wins power in the December general elections.

Addressing the clergy in the Northern Region on Thursday May 16, 2024 Dr. Bawumia said his government will bring down government expenditure drastically.

“I even stated it here today, that I want to bring down government expenditure and the size of government by at least 3% of gross domestic product (GDP) which is about GHC 30 billion reduction in expenditure over the next four years.”

“And I have also made it clear that in my government, I will have no more than 50 ministers and that is also to say that the size of government will be brought down so that we can have more done with the resources,” Bawumia said.

However, a member of the Movement for Change Kofi Adusei Poku speaking on Plan B FM morning show dubbed ‘Nkosuo Nsem’ with Kofi Sekyi refuted the vice president’s promise, stating that it constitutes political rhetoric and propaganda.

He urged Ghanaians to disregard  the comments made by the vice President which he described as “lies”.

He also called on the youth in the country to take their destiny into their own hands, speak truth to power  and demand better from the government.
