LGBTQI+; I am highly disappointed that President Akuffo Addo has not assent to the bill yet- Tema West NPP Parliamentary Candidate

The Parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tema West constituency Mr. Dennis Amfo Sefa also known as Nana Boakye has expressed his disappointment in President Akuffo Addo’s refusal to assent to the LGBTQI+ Bill passed by parliament recently.

Speaking on Plan BFM’s morning show NKOSUONSEM hosted by Obidehye Kofi Sekyi, Nana Boakye stated that the LGBTQI+ is a No No for him because based on his belief and traditional norms and customs he doesn’t support the activities.

“I am a Presbyterian and I don’t want to have issues with God, so I will not and should not succumb to what is evil in the eyes of God”.

“As a member of Parliament you represent your constituents and their interests should be paramount to you and they are the majority so their views must also come first and majority of Ghanaians already don’t support the LGBTQ+ so why the delay, the president called all Christian leaders, Muslim leaders and traditional authorities to back him to assent the LGBTQI bill to tell the western countries that your people don’t like it and you have nothing to loose, we survived when there was no support from the white or foreign aid”.
