Arsenal Football Club manager, Mikel Arteta, has praised the performance of Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey in the wake of The Gunners demolition of Chelsea.
The London Derby played out at the Emirates Stadium had Arsenal spank Chelsea 5-0 to maintain its lead atop the English Premier League standings.
Partey played 72 minutes in the game and delivered an effective and efficient performance as a starter for the first time since April 3 against Luton Town. He was replaced by Italian international Jorginho. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
The 30 year old was flanked by Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice and the trio’s contributions were not lost on Arteta who complimented Partey’s efforts on his return to the starting lineup.
“We thought it was a really good game for Thomas [Partey] to come back, he looks like he is in rhythm. He stepped up and had a great performance and was really important for the team.”
The win comes in the lead up to Premier League games for fellow title contenders Liverpool (on April 24 against Everton) and Manchester City on April 25 (against Brighton and Hove Albion).
