CAF Confederations Cup: Dreams FC hold Zamalek to a goalless draw in Egypt

CAF Confederations Cup: Dreams FC hold Zamalek to a goalless draw in Egypt
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Dreams FC managed to secure a valuable draw against Zamalek in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup semifinal clash on Sunday in a tightly contested match at the Cairo International Stadium.

The Egyptian giants, eager to capitalise on home advantage, pushed hard to secure a win, but Dreams FC’s resilience thwarted their efforts.

Despite numerous attempts from both sides to break the deadlock, the match ended in a stalemate.

The draw leaves both teams evenly poised for the return leg, where the winner of the tie will be determined.

Dreams FC, however, emerged as the happier side, knowing they will have the backing of Ghanaians when they face Zamalek again on April 28, 2024, at the Baba Yara Stadium.

For the Ghana FA Cup champions, their remarkable journey in their debut season continues to defy expectations.

Under the leadership of Karim Zito, they have surpassed all odds to reach this stage of the competition, a feat only previously achieved by Hearts of Oak and Kotoko in the last two decades.

Having earned their place in the prestigious competition by clinching the FA Cup in Ghana, ‘The Still Believe’ team have shown determination and resilience throughout their campaign.

With their eyes set on further success, Dreams FC remain a formidable contender in the CAF Confederation Cup with anticipation already high for the second leg.
