GPL: More misery for Kotoko after 2- 0 defeat to Dreams

GPL: More misery for Kotoko after 2- 0 defeat to Dreams
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Dreams FC compounded Asante Kotoko’s struggles on Sunday with a decisive 2-0 victory at Theatre of Dreams in the matchweek 26 fixtures of the Ghana Premier League.

The breakthrough came in the 25th minute when Silvester Simba found the back of the net, granting Dreams FC an early lead. Despite Asante Kotoko’s attempts to level the score before halftime, they remained behind.

After the interval, Dreams FC maintained their dominance, with Derrick Agyei extending their lead in the 64th minute.

This triumph signals a remarkable turnaround for Dreams FC, who had previously struggled to secure a league victory in their last five outings.

The victory propelled the team to the 14th position on the table, effectively lifting them out of the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko’s woes continue as they plummet to 12th place on the log, marking their poorest performance in years.

With seven losses in the second round of the league and only four points gained during that period, Kotoko’s form stands as the league’s worst by any team thus far.

The mounting pressure now falls heavily on head coach Prosper Nartey Ogum, who faces the formidable challenge of taking on league leaders FC Samartex in the upcoming fixture.
