Sports Journalist David Oduro, popularly known as King Dave has charged the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) and other relevant state institutions to investigate the Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Prof. Peter Twumasi for a number of irregularities, including the closing down of the Accra Sports Stadium, impropriety and infractions.
The NSA, headed by the Director General, Prof. Peter Twumasi, appeared before PAC on Monday, February 5, 2024 in the company of his officials to respond to queries cited in the 2022 Auditor-General’s report.
The NSA was led by the Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif.
Speaking on Plan B FM’s ‘Kwadwen’ Sports show hosted by Dan K Pobi ‘Okocha’ , King Dave called on the OSP to initiate investigations into the activities of the NSA led by Peter Twumasi which has led to the dwindling fortunes of sports and the deterioration of sports infrastructure in the country.
He believes the NSA under the leadership of Prof. Peter Twumasi has plunged the state into serious financial irregularities.
“I think the OSP needs to step in and conduct an investigations into the activities of the NSA. The NSA boss is super incompetent and not fit for purpose. All these allegations leveled against him (Peter Twumasi) should not go unchecked. Something needs to be done. We can’t continue to allow this mess to fester” he stated
