Be cautious of fictitious trade as Christmas approaches – Public advised

Chief Inspector Morgan with the Tema Community 2 District Police Command has advised the general public, especially businessmen and women to be cautious about fictitious trade as Christmas approaches.

Speaking Plan B FM’s morning show NKOSUONSEM hosted by Obidehye Kofi Sekyi, Chief Inspector Morgan explained that,
Fictitious trade involves the recording of sales of goods or services that did not occur. Fictitious trade most often involves fake or phantom customers, but can also involve legitimate customers.

He said, that during times like this, some people may pretend to be genuine businesspeople but if care is not taken you may be duped in the long run.

He advised all businessmen and women to be extra vigilant in dealing with first-time customers demanding items that involve a huge sum of money on credits.
