Tema: ECG to replace prepaid meters with smart meters

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that it is beginning to replace all prepaid meters with smart ones in the Tema Metropolis. 

In an interview on Plan B FM’s ‘Nkosuo Nsem’ with Obidehye Kofi Sakyi, the Public Relations Officer (PRO), for the Tema Region Ohemaa Sakyiwaa indicated that her outfit is embarking on this exercise to ensure convenience and quality service to it customers.

She added that the situation whereby customers buy prepaid credit with the prepaid card will be a thing of the past.

She further stated the ECG is working assiduously to phase out all post paid meters for smart meters.

“A team has been deployed to the area to inspect and take details of the meters, after which another team will be deployed to replace the meters free of charge” she stated 

She urged the general public to be patient as ECG is committed to providing quality service for customers and Ghanaians.
