The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is a party that has been deeply divided along factional lines in recent times. These divisions have been exacerbated in recent years by the struggle for succession to President Akufo Addo.
Youth of Africa, challenge yourself…
Some folks of the NPP have argued that Hon. Ken Agyepong is on a self-destructive mission that will affect the party and himself going into the 2024 election.
The decision by Hon. Alan Kyeremanteng not to contest in the November 4th elections has also caused some level of cracks within the rank and file of the party.
During the Super Delegates Conference voting, Hon. Ken Agyapong who is one of the flag bearers hopeful threatened a showdown with Vice President Bawumia and President Akufo Addo for the alleged sacking of his agent during voting to elect five out of the ten candidates for the November 2024 election.

His recent pronouncements that the NPP lost the 2024 election in 2022 when the dollar-to-center exchange rate hit the economy and the people of Ghana have been seen as bad publicity by the party.
The big question is if is NPP hunted by self-destruction tactics and if Hon. Ken Agyapong is to be blamed for this or the entire leadership of the party since the start of campaigns for the flagbearers slot for the 2024 elections.
According to Hon. Ken Agyapong, the name of the killer of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale is Ansong Gyeabour. This has added to the controversy the NPP has been plagued with ahead of the November 4th internal elections.

NPP faithful cannot deny the fact that the NPP’s economic performance has been poor in recent years. The party has been unable to control inflation or create jobs.
The NPP government has been criticized for its incompetence in handling a number of issues, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dear Fellow Young Patriots, it’s undeniable that Hon. Kennedy Agyapong’s loyalty to the NPP doesn’t surpass yours and mine.
If NPP loyalty hinges on just financial investments in the party, then neither you nor I truly belong because we can’t afford it.
You diligently labour for the party without compensation, yet you refrain from criticizing it at every opportunity. So why does someone who has greatly benefited from the NPP government since 2017 criticize the party and its leaders without restraint?
Does this demonstrate greater loyalty than the affection and dedication we have for the elephant? If he claims to act for the grassroots, why aren’t the grassroots attacking the party and its leaders? Why aren’t they hurling insults at the party’s leadership?
If Dr. Bawumia had spoken like this, I would have promptly sought a new camp. Our loyalty is to the elephant’s name, not an individual’s fleeting fame.
Let’s avoid unwarranted praise that harms our party’s cause.
In 2024, Ken will need your support and mine if he wins the November Primaries, just like every other candidate.
The Elephant is bigger than any individual in the party. We serve the elephant, let that be crystal clear, not one created by the Elephant!
