Akuapem South Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) in Eastern region has apprehended Daniel Adjei, a custom officer, and his accomplice John Annan for the unlawful demolition of a public toilet facility at Asuafum community in Aburi .

The 12-seater KVIP toilet facility has been serving the community for about 40 years now .

It is the only facility serving majority of residents without toilet facilities in their homes.

According to reports, the suspects claimed they purchased the land where the public facility is located two years ago.

However the assembly disagrees stating that ,no permit has been granted for sale and construction of a any building on the land.

The suspects have been handed over to the Eastern Regional police command to assist in an investigation.

The community hopes that justice will be served, and measures will be taken to immediately construct a public toilet to replace the demolished one to curb possible rise in open defecation and its concomitant health implications.
