An executive member of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union GPRTU Nana Eric Asirifi has bemoaned the hygiene of some trotro conductors ‘mates’ in the country.
Speaking to Nana Yaw Abrompah on Plan B FM’s morning show NKOSUONSEM, Nana Asirifi raised concerns about how some trotro mates present themselves to work in various transport vehicles sometimes making passengers feel uncomfortable.
“Some don’t bath which makes them smell especially their armpits when you sit close to them, some don’t brush their teeth, they don’t wash their clothes, and they just wear anything to work which make people disrespect them.”
Nana Asirifi also cautioned drivers to allow their mates dress properly to eliminate the mentality that every trotro mate is illiterate.
“They should dress well and keep themselves neat” he said
He also advised them to be truthful in dealing with passengers if lost items are found in their vehicles after work, they should keep them till the owner is found.
