Sexual harassment: Teach your children the right names of body parts -NCCE

The Tema Metro branch of the National Commission for Civic Education NCCE and the  has stated that sexual harassment is any unwanted sexual behavior that makes someone feel upset, scared, offended, or humiliated, or is meant to make them feel that way which describes any sexual activity that happened without consent.

Speaking on Plan B FM lifestyle, relationship and family show NYANSAPO FIE hosted by Rev. Dr. Michele Asenso on the topic of SEXUAL HARASSMENT, the Tema Metro NCCE director Madam Gifty Agyeiwaa Badu together with Mr. Fidel Bortey also the Tema West NCCE director have urged parents to teach their children the right names of their body parts to help them report if anyone harasses them sexually.

Madam Gifty Agyeiwaa Badu also explained that sexual harassment includes offensive or derogatory jokes, racial or ethnic slurs, pressure for dates or sexual favors, unwelcome comments about a person’s religion or religious garments, or offensive graffiti.

“Sharing pictures or videos of private body parts, sexual activity, or sexually-suggestive acts, such as on their cell phone, touches their own or anyone else’s private body parts in a sexual way. Intentionally exposes their private body parts” she indicated

She said sexualized jokes, language, Images, unwanted physical contact, and Inappropriate conduct based on sexual orientation or gender identity are all signs of sexual harassment.
