Assin North by-election: NPP’s Defeat was caused by poor strategy – Security expert

Assin North by-election: NPP’s Defeat was caused by poor strategy – Security expert
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

A security expert with the Lesbener security services has described the defeat of the New Patriotic Party NPP in the just-ended Assin North by-election as caused by a poor strategy on the side of the NPP.

Sharing his view on the Plan B FM morning show NKOSUONSEM with Nana Yaw Abrompah, Major Rtd Mahammed Bogobiri said, the greediness was too high on the side of the NPP who wanted to win the seat by all means sharing money and other goodies was a mistake on their side.

He said the Assin North people voted for Gyakye Quayson because of the jobs created for the youth in the area and voting for him is the appreciation and sympathy from the constituents.

“It was a combination of many factors: the perception that they are persecuting James Gyakye Quayson, the fact that they left development projects in Kumawu uncompleted, and they hurriedly came to Assin North and another factor was the sheer opulence and sprinkling of money to the people in the constituency when they need their vote. It made some people very angry,”
