I will make the Black Stars successful – Chris Hughton
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton has expressed how proud he is to be the lead technician of Ghana’s National Men’s Football team and his commitment to make the Black Stars as “successful as possible”.

He said this at his official unveiling as Black Stars head coach today at the SG Mall in Kumasi mere days before the Black Stars take on Angola in the first of a two legged 2023 AFCON tie at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Hughton was appointed as head coach in February after serving as Black Stars technical advisor in Ghana’s run at the 2022 FIFA World Cup held in Qatar.

“To represent Ghana and the Black Stars as the head coach is something I am incredibly proud of. It’s something that I will give everything to make the team as successful as possible. It’s something that I will do to make sure that the communication and relationship that I have with the Association [Ghana Football Association], or those around the association and of course the supporters, to give all of my best.

Hughton has served as manager English sides Newcastle, Brighton and Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest prior to his appointment as Black Stars technical advisor.
