Manchester City beat Arsenal 3-1 to move into first place in Premier League table

Manchester Cityhave beaten Arsenal3-1 at the Emirates Stadium, moving them into first place in the Premier Leaguetable.

Kevin De Bruyneopened the scoring in this action-filled affair in the 24th minute, capitalising on an error by Takehiro Tomiyasuand lifting the ball over Aaron Ramsdaleinto the net.

Arsenal equalised from the spot in the 42nd minute, Bukayo Sakasending Edersonthe wrong way after the goalkeeper fouled Eddie Nketiahin the box.

Pep Guardiola’s side thought they had been awarded a penalty of their own in the 57th minute, but VAR ruled that Erling Haalandwas offside prior to being fouled by Gabriel Magalhaes.

Fifteen minutes later though, Jack Grealishgave the visitors the lead for good. Haaland added City’s third 10 minutes after that to put the game out of reach.

Arsenal fall out of first place for the first time since August, now having failed to win three straight league matches.
