Gladson Awako Named Black Galaxies Captain

Gladson Awako Named Black Galaxies Captain
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Hearts of Oak midfielder, Gladson Awako has been named captain of the home-based national team who are currently preparing for the 2023 CHAN qualifiers.

The 31 year old has been sensational in the just ended season for the ‘Phobians’ despite his jittery start but ended the campaign on a higher note.

His stellar display especially in the MTN FA Cup final earned him a call up into the Black Galaxies squad who have been in preparations at the Ghana Soccer Center of Excellence for almost a month now.
The ex- TP Mazembe mercurial midfielder has been named as the first captain, center-back Vincent Atinga and Kotoko’s Imoro Ibrahim to serve as the first and second vice.
They humbled first division side Kenpong Academy earlier today by 2-1 at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast in a friendly.
Coach Annor Walker’s men are currently preparing for the double header against the Squirrels of Benin as they look to qualify for the 2023 CHAN tournament, having missed out in the last three editions.
