Ghana currently has 6 sites designated as Wetlands of International Importance (Ramsar Sites), with a surface area of 176,134 hectares.

There are five designated coastal wetlands in Ghana, namely Keta Lagoon Complex, Songhor, Sakumo, Densu Delta, and Muni Lagoon.
