Past Methodist Bishop for Obuasi Bishop Bosomtwe Ayensu has incurred the wrath of the Member of Parliament for Builsa South Dr. Clement Apaak for his comments over former President John Dramani Mahama’s promise to repeal the E-Levy should the National Democratic Congress win the 2024 polls.
The man of God lashed out at former President John Dramani Mahama for indicating that the next NDC government will cancel the much-talked about Electronic Transactions Levy in 2025 if it comes to power.
The Bishop believes Mr Mahama would not even get the opportunity to come to power to cancel the policy.
According to him, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is on the right track to get nation from the wrecks and shocks of the Covid pandemic coupled with the Russia-Ukraine war.
“So, we should all endeavour to pay so the government could use the accrued money for development,” he advised.
Reacting to the man of God, the lawmaker who had consistently expressed optimism that the NDC will win the polls with Mr. Mahama as candidate slammed the man of God.
He wondered why the man of God had no problem with a President who fly in luxury when students sit on the floor without desks and without textbooks over the past three years.
But has a problem with a yet to be elected presidential candidate.
