A 52-year-old man called Philip Kwabena Ampong Oduro has allegedly shot dead his brother-in-law at Saiman, a suburb in Wasa Akropong in the Wasa Amenfi East Municipality of the Western region.

This was after the suspect and the deceased had fought over a male goat on Thursday.

According to an eyewitness, Obeng, the mother of the 28-year-old Yaw Anim (now deceased), sold out a male goat to the suspect without the knowledge of the deceased.

After discovering that the animal was in the possession of the suspect, Obeng said, the deceased confronted the suspect and the two broke into a fight.

“Anim saw his brother-in-law with their male goat and asked him where he was taking the animal to in the night. He then told Anim that he had bought the animal from her mother, so he should ask her. A misunderstanding ensued between them, which broke into a fight, but it was settled. The next day, Philip shot dead Anim on his way back home, “he said.

The suspect has absconded after committing the heinous crime.

The incident has been reported to the police.
