We Will Be Present At Work But Not Perform Our Duties – CETAG

The leadership of Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) , following an unfulfilled promise by the  government has announced to embark on a nationwide industrial action from January 6, 2021.

In a press statement copied to Plan B News, it stated that it intention to withdraw its services across all the 46 public Colleges of Education in the country today January, 2022 is premise of unpaid arrears.

CETAG in the release indicated it signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the government on September 24, 2021, after reaching an agreement through negotiation on 2017-2020 Conditions of Service (CoS) for it members.

Mr. Nathan Ohene Gyan the national General secretary of CETAG speaking on Plan B FM’s ‘Ebaanosen’ with Bohyeba Afriyie, he confirmed that members of their Association will Embark on an indefinite strike which will take effect today January 6 2022.

He revealed that it is as a result of the Government refusal to release their monthly salary.

He indicated that amongst the 3 services they render in their field they only intend to withdraw the teaching service so they will go to Work but not perform their Duties.

He concluded that they will only resume work if they get a message from their controller which indicates that their payment is being processed and they will receive it at the of this month.
