Mentally Challenged Man Crushed To Death At Asem Near Mampong
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The police of Asem, a commercial town within the Mampong Municipal, is pleading with members of the general public to help locatethe family of an unidentified man who was hit by a hit and run driver on Friday evening.

Speaking to the media, Officer Gilbert Osei of the CID of the Asem Police station, stated that, the unidentified man who is currently being kept at the morgue of the Mampong Government Hospital, is not from Asem or nearby towns as assembly members within Mampong and their unit committee have all said they do not know him.

He, the deceased, is within his twenties. Probably twenty-four to twenty-nine, an age we believe he is within. He is neither short nor tall but a mononymous person in nature. He is moderate with stature and had a slight beard and a small mouth with a round nose and deep socketed eyes.

He has is a Short Leg Syndrome (SLS) person; a 33 10 person or better known in the medical community as Leg Length Discrepancy person. We do not know his name and where he is from and will need your services to help find his identity and better locate his family for support, Officer Gilbert Osei told the reporters this afternoon after they have tried all they could to help find the identity of the deceased.

Officer Gilbert Osei in his speech, hinted that the man was a mentally challenged man which health officials at the Mampong Government Hospital had proven after they had deposited the body at the mortuary on Friday. We found out that, he is not of a sound mind and that may have led to the accident that took his life.

We have been investigating the case and are on the lookout for the said driver who crushed him to death but we first need to find his family to help them know what has happened, Officer Gilbert Osei added. If anyone knows any man, mentally unfit, with such qualities, kindly call the police emergence lines 18555 or 911 and ask for Mampong Police command.
