The Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, has engaged the press at the Jubilee House on Thursday, November 11, 2021 to make public, the decision of the president to embark on a 7day leave of absence from Saturday, November 13, 2021 and will resume his official duties on Saturday, November 20, 2021.

According to reports, the last time the president was on a similar leave was in June 2019 his first annual leave since assuming office in January 2017 and as such, the Director of Communications think that he deserves this break from his usual official duties as the President of the Republic of Ghana.

While on this leave, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo will be in France having accepted an invitation to preside over the panel that will adjudicate a debate in the French parliament on the trial of progress on the 19th of November.

In his absence, the vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will act as head of state until he resumes official duties on November 20, 2021, in accordance with Article 60(8) of the Constitution of Ghana.
