One person has been dead after some armed robbers mounted a road blockage and attacked some residents of Abromase, near Yeji in the Pru East District of the Bono East Region.
According to some residents of the area where the attack occurred, the deceased, Mahamudu popularly known as Dede, was on his way to Yeji to sell some products.
Narrating how the deceased was killed, one of the residents noted that, the robbers after mounting the blockage started attacking traders who were plying a certain stretch of road in the area. “People started running for their lives because it was night and visibility was poor. Mahamudu who did not know the robbers were positioned at a certain part of the road run into them on his motorbike and was subsequently shot in the face by one of the robber,” one of the residents narrated and declined to mention his name for security reason.
The motorbike the deceased was riding did not have lights; something the residents believe accounted for his death.
Mahamudu’s body has since been deposited at Yeji Mathias Hospital for further investigation.
