Re-Conduct NTC Exams – Affected Candidates Appeal To GES

Re-Conduct NTC Exams – Affected Candidates Appeal To GES
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Candidates who sat for the October 1st and 2nd, 2020 National Teaching Council (NTC) examination have expressed disappointment over the results of the resit exams released by the National Teaching Council (NTC).

The results from the NTC exams show that 90% of the teachers who sat for the exams failed.

The affected teachers are not happy with the results, which they say could affect their postings by the GES this year.

One of the affected Teachers who spoke on Plan B FM ‘Ebaanosen’ with Bohyeba Afriyie on condition of anonymity-raised concerns over the mode and marking criteria of the exam, which he believes, may have accounted for the mass failure.

He is therefore appealing to the Ghana Education Service as a matter of urgency to re-conduct the exams for them.

“We started writing the NTC exam two years ago, and it’s been successful until October 2020 that things started getting out of hand. We failed woefully especially the English Literacy and the authorities told us we failed because some of the candidates were caught indulging in malpractices. So we registered and sat for resit in May and the results were released in July 29, 2021. After checking the results, we realized it was the same old results with the old center so we quickly informed the Teacher Trainee Association of Ghana about the development and they also engaged the NTC,” he stated.

“The NTC told TTAG they can’t do anything about the results and that we should go for remarking at a cost of ₵600.00 per paper which we think is too much. We are appealing to the Ghana Education Service to intervene and re-conduct the exams for us, we haven’t done anything wrong, and we are really suffering,” he added.
