Alhaji Abdul Rahman, NPP Western North Nasara coordinator has denied allegations by students and teachers of Bibiani old Town JHS of conniving with the MCE of the area Hon. Alfred Amoah to confiscate computers meant for the students of the school.
The computers were donated to the school by the Zongo Development Ministry to help the students prepare for the upcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Speaking on Plan B FM ‘Ebaanosen’ with Bohyeba Afriyie, he said the allegations are unfounded and should be disregarded.
“All what they are saying is not true; the school is dear to my heart. I lobbied for 25 computers. Initially, the authorities told me they have to give some to other Zongo communities, so if they give all to us, it will not be enough so we agreed and they gave us 10 computers” he said.
“As I speak with you now, I have 10 of the computers in my possession because of security reasons; it’s not safe keeping them in the school and also we are trying to connect the school to the national grid for them to use the computers. Hopefully, by next Monday everything will be ready so we can do the commissioning. So I don’t know where these allegations is coming from,” he explained.
