GES Instructs All Schools To Go On Easter Break On April 1

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that all schools will break for the Easter Holidays tomorrow, Thursday, April 1, 2021.

A statement issued today, Tuesday, March 31, 2021 and signed by The Head of Public Relations Unit of the GES, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, said the break will end on Tuesday, April 6, 2021.

The statement further stated that, the Easter break is not compulsory for Boarding students and so students who wish to stay on campus will be allowed to stay and fed but the Students must adhere strictly to the school rules and regulations.

 Meanwhile Senior High School (SHS) 3 students are also expected to resume for the second session of the first semester on Wednesday, 7th April 2021. 

Schools in Ghana were reopened on the January 15, 2021 after a 9-month closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In his 21st broadcast to the nation on measures taken by the government against COVID-19, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo noted then that all kindergartens, primary and junior high schools were to reopen on January 15 while SHS reopened on January 18, 2021 with tertiary institutions instructed to reopen on January 9, 2021.
