WAEC Releases 2020 BECE Provisional Results

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the provisional results for the 2020 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

According to a press release signed by the Head of Public Affairs of WAEC, Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, candidates can now access the results which have been hosted on the WAEC website.

The statement sighted by Plan B FM, disclosed that the subject results of 417 candidates have been cancelled.

It further explained that the candidates had their subjects canceled for bringing foreign materials into the examination hall and engaging in collusion.

It also added that 44 candidates had their entire results cancelled for entering the examination halls with mobile phones.

According to the council, results of 977 candidates have been withheld and pending investigations into various cases of alleged malpractices.

A total of 531,707 candidates comprising 269,408 males and 262299 females sat for the 2020 examinations.
