Juvenile Club Owners Association of Ghana (JUCOAG) have sent their condolences to Africa Vision Soccer Academy and families of the deceased players following a gory accident in the Ashanti Region.

In an interview with Tema based radio station Plan B FM on the Pashew Sports, Communications Director of (JUCOAG) Justice Nkansah Asare ‘Basti’ said they are shocked and saddened to hear about the horrific accident on the eve of Saturday at Offinso in the Ashanti Region.

“This is very sad for us in the football fraternity especially Juvenile football. The team was traveling back from Offinso where they underwent a league registration exercise for the upcoming District Juvenile League before this tragic news happened”.

“Our heartfelt condolences goes to the families of the victims of African vision football Academy”, he concluded

The six players said to be between the ages of 12 and 16, reportedly died on the spot while several others were left injured and rushed to the Offinso St. Patrick Hospital and the Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital (KATH).

In line with this, (JUCOAG) have released a press statement which reads;

The Juvenile Club Owners Association of Ghana (JUCOAG) extends its deepest and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and sympathizes with all the families of the victims and African Vision Soccer Academy for the most unfortunate fatal accident on the eve of yesterday, Saturday 19th September 2020 at Offinso in the Ashanti Region.

The news came shocking and heartbreaking, for a juvenile team that were returning from Afrancho to Offinso after their juvenile player registration exercise to suffer such a magnitude of a tragedy and fatality.

We are told that eight (8) of the talented young footballers have passed on and the rest including the manager of the team “Augustine Mensah popularly known as coach Alonso” are currently fighting for their lives.

JUCOAG mourns in an uncontrollable pains with the bereaved families and stands in prayers with those injured and hope that the Almighty God would be merciful to them and grant them Divine healing”.

This is highly catastrophic and real hard times for Juvenile football and Ghana as a whole. We plead with all Ghanaians to remember all victims in prayers.

May the gentle souls of the demised young talents rest in rest in perfect peace.

Regards,
JUCOAG National Communication Directorate
