3 dead, 12 others in critical condition in an accident at Gomoa Mprumamu junction

One Feared Dead, Driver In Critical Condition In Gomoa Dabenyin Accident

Three persons have reportedly died at a spot while twelve others are in critical condition following a tragic accident at Gomoa Mprumamu in the Gomoa West District on Apam-Winneba Highway.

The accident involved 15 passengers onboard a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number CR: 805-24 from Accra to Cape Coast.

According to reports, one of the tyres of the bus got busted while it was moving causing the bus to veer off the road and somersault into the bush.

According to the Ghana National Fire Service Commander at Apam, DO2 Anthony Kwesi Rhule said parts of the bus after somersaulting caught fire.

Report says, most of the passengers who were onboard were heading towards Cape Coast to witness the ongoing Fetu Afahye Festival.

According to the Apam fire commander DO2 Anthony Kwesi Rhule, three children were included in the fatal accident, one was among the injured persons.

Two of the children although were safe lost their mother in the accident.

DO2 Anthony Kwesi Rhule, confirmed the incident to Onua news. He said the body of the deceased persons have been deposited at the Winneba Trauma mortuary while some of casualties have been sent to Winneba trauma hospital and Winneba municipal hospital for treatment.

He also, advised the drivers to minimize the speed on the highway and also respect the road sings to curb down road accident on the stretch.
