Three (3) people have died in an accident on the Ewusiejoe-Aboadze road in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region.

According to an eyewitness, the fatal incident happened on Wednesday, May 31, at about 9:20 pm.

He said the victim’s vehicle, a Pontiac Vibe with registration number GW 256-14 was coming from Nsuaem heading towards Takoradi on top speed, and after overtaking a truck ahead of it, the vehicle hit a big pothole leading it to summersault into a drain.

He said, “I was in a vehicle passing on that stretch, upon getting to the location, I saw the vehicle and alerted my colleague. We got down to rescue the victims, 3 males in the vehicle but we could not get them out so had to wait for the personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service from Sekondi to come and remove the bodies and the vehicles from the drain.”

He said all three victims were dead when they were removed from the vehicle.

The National Ambulance were also called to the scene and transported the bodies to the morgue for preservation.
