Youngster Michelle Sarpong Nets Brace To Give Hearts Their First Win Of The Season

Head coach Kosta Papic took charge of his first match since his appointment and the Serbian made four changes to his starting XI.

His chances worked as the Phobians looked improved and lively in their play and accounted for their guest.

The early shot was fired by Hearts of Oak and it was youngster Michelle Sarpong whose powerful low shot swept across the face of goal.

It was just a few meters wide.

Before finding the back of the net, Obeng Jr had rattled the cross-bar from inside the box with a delivery on his left foot.

His opener was registered in the 38th minute when he sublimely shot into the bottom corner to finish off a counter attack.

But the full credit must go to Patrick Razak who stole the ball from Issah Yakubu, approached the box and released Obeng on the right.

Dreams FC should have taken the lead early on but Issah Ibrahim, who was left unmarked inside the box, headed wide after a lovely corner-kick whipped in from the left flank.

After the half hour mark, Hearts of Oak were forced to make a substitution after Manaf Umar replaced Ansah Botchway who picked up an injury.

In the 35th minute Dantani Amadu hit the side net from a Dreams FC free kick.

Three minutes after recess, Sarpong doubled Hearts of oak’s lead to leave Dreams FC dazed and unsettled.

Dreams FC were sprawling on the ropes and looked sterile without Joseph Esso and Emmanuel Ocran in their line-up.

At the death, Sarpong apply a another header to the first delivery which could have been gone straight to goalkeeper Amaoh.

The Dreams FC defenders were caught sleepwalking and paid dearly for that shock defending.
