The Economy Fighters League has reiterated their call for the E-Levy to be scrapped.
The Fighters believe the levy is an unfair increase in the tax burden of average to low wage earners at our press conference on 22nd of November 2021.
“We reiterate that the introduction of the Momo Tax demonstrates the insensitivity of the political establishment to the plight of the average Ghanaian in their struggle for decent living standards and sustainable livelihoods.”
A statement issued by the Fighters League slammed the governing NPP and the NDC blaming both parties for the economic woes of the country.
“Rather than auditing the ‘bizarre and opaque contracts’ that have caused ‘the abysmal financial mess and crisis the country has been in over the years both parties whilst in government have reached for more taxes that penalise subsisting Africans in this unbalanced and unsustainable fiscal regime.
Other recent events are clear evidence of this hegemony; that a parliament with an even distribution of 137-137 was prepared to pass this budget buttresses our conviction that neither party exists to serve the interests of the citizens of Ghana.”
The League is proposing a new of solutions to help address the challenges Ghanaians are facing.
They among others want the salary of Article 1 Officeholders reduced, the abolition of ex-gratia, Cutting of frivolous government expenses such as the purchase of Vehicles, medical services outside Ghana of elite Government administrators, hiring of private jet for presidency.
