US-based Ghanaian Journalist, Kevin Ekow Taylor has expressed disappointment in the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II over comments he made in respect of the controversial e-levy.
The Asantehene, at a ball organized in his honor last weekend, admonished lawmakers not to frustrate government policy or hold governance to ransom over disagreement with government policy.
The respected traditional authority also admonished government to be humble enough to accept genuine inputs from opposing elements in order to ensure a smooth governance process.
However, the Asantehene’s comment has not gone down well with Kevin Taylor who believes the Asante Monarch is not being able to be blunt with President Akufo-Addo to cut down on profligate spending.
Kevin Taylor believes the Asantehene’s comment is an indirect endorsement of President Akufo-Addo’s love for traveling in luxury rented aircrafts at a time when the economy is suffocating as a result of excessive borrowing.
