A prosecution witness in the trial involving former National Signals Bureau boss Kwabena Adu-Boahene has told an Accra High Court that a Ghc7.2 million transfer was paid into the account of the Director of the National Signals Bureau and not the institution’s main account.
The witness, Mildred Donkor, made the claim during cross-examination on Thursday, May 14, after defence lawyer Samuel Atta Akyea questioned her over bank records presented in court.
According to the witness, the money was lodged into the Director’s account “as earlier stated.”
The hearing saw tense exchanges between lawyers for the accused and the Deputy Attorney General over objections linked to money transfers, approvals and exchange rates.
Justice Achibonga also cautioned lawyers during proceedings after attempts were made to question the witness over exchange rate calculations.
Adu-Boahene, his wife Angela Boateng and Advantage Solutions Limited are facing trial over allegations involving the alleged diversion of GH¢49 million meant for government cybersecurity software.
Prosecutors claim the funds were routed through several companies before ending up in Advantage Solutions Limited and allegedly used to acquire properties in Accra, Kumasi and London.
The case has been adjourned to May 20, 2026, for the continuation of cross-examination.
