Western Region: Pain And Grief As Driver Kills Two Girls

Western Region: Pain And Grief As Driver Kills Two Girls
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The home of the Quacoo family at Kansoworado in the Efia-Kwesiminstim Municipality of the Western Region is currently in a state of shock and mourning following the death of their two daughters at the same time. Maame Nzema as she is affectionately called cannot hold on to her tears after news of her two daughters was announced. Her husband, Mr. Quarcoo collapsed after he was informed that his two daughters have all died.

The background of their woes began when their two daughters, Abigail Quacoo who is Sixteen years old, and Gloria Quacoo who is also fourteen years old went for worshipping at the Kansaworado Pentecost Church. The two were asked to move out with some elders of the church to the roadside and preach the word of God to win more souls. They were standing on the pavement preaching to other persons when a speeding driver run into them.

The two children who were still preaching died instantly whilst the church elders and the driver of the vehicle sustained various degrees of injuries. They are currently at the Effinkwanta Regional Hospital receiving treatment whilst the lifeless bodies of the children have been deposited at the mortuary pending further investigations. The two deceased children were both second-year Junior High School students and their classmates cannot hold on to their tears. To the church of Pentecost, they have lost young souls who were being trained to become responsible elders of the church in the future.

To their parents, they have lost brilliant children who were growing up to take care of them in the future. Now, their dreams have been shattered by the recklessness of a driver who was overspeeding. He is currently receiving treatment at the hospital but is under arrest. The Assemblymember of the area, Pascal Isaac Mensah alleges that the driver was drunk and that might have caused the accident. According to him, the family of the driver has met with the parents of the deceased children for the issue to be addressed amicably.

However, the police have taken over the issue and waiting for the driver to recover for the necessary questions to be asked. He will be made to face the laws of the country accordingly. Drivers should abide by the road safety regulations and road accidents will reduce drastically. If this driver had been a little cautious, this sad accident would have been avoided.
